“It’s important to be here and to introduce our students to their traditions and culture. Some are already familiar with them due to their origins, but for others, it’s sometimes a complete discovery,” says Barbara, a teacher at Risso School, praising the merits of an event that has been a great success among both the youth and their parents.
“We have been rehearsing for weeks and it’s fantastic to go on stage in front of the audience in just a few minutes,” Emilien is eager to tread the boards of the platform to perform a dance with distinctly local flavors. “We are proud as parents that our children can have an approach to Niรงois culture even though we are not originally from the region. We are Bretons and at home too, culture and traditions play an important role in local life.” D and C came as supporters of their little Anaรฏs, who steps on stage dressed in a bridal gown to dance to the tune of the Niรงois wedding song.
Pleasure, happiness, and good times were thus on the agenda of this May festival for Niรงois schoolchildren who have already set a date next year for a new edition.
