Ladislas Polski (MRC) announces his candidacy: I propose to the residents of Trinité that we build the future of the community together.

In wanting to paraphrase the same situation under different circumstances and context, Ladislas Polski could have said: “Alea jacta est.” A young man in his early forties and a doctor by profession, he modestly wishes to rejuvenate his town, La Trinité, which, in the absence of an energizing project, risks becoming one of the dormitory towns that satellites the city of Nice, just 15 short minutes from its city center.

“My candidacy, on the other hand, aims to be one of hope, of a republican and progressive left that knows how to take into account the demands of the population, interpret them, and make them possible,” the new candidate tells us during his candidacy announcement.

Nice-Premium: So, you will be the top of the list for a coalition party?

Ladislas Polski: My candidacy is not against the parties but seeks to go beyond them. My list will be a broad gathering, open to all citizens, especially the youth, who care about the future of the city (with its approximately 15,000 inhabitants, it is the fifth city of the metropolis), making it a pleasant place to live. I believe this is possible if we move away from a governance that has thrown in the towel and has become entirely subservient to the Metropolis. I want to represent a credible alternative for our community.

Nice-Premium: What will be the strong points of your program?

Ladislas Polski: My team and I are in the midst of crafting a program that will be ambitious yet achievable.

We want to build a quality project where priorities will notably include quality of life, security, land planning, and its harmonious development, the link between neighborhoods and generations, the reach of the town, and the protection of employment. Revitalizing our city will be my priority.

I can just reveal to you the two major axes:

The first is living well together, which also includes security, a theme on which I do not want to compromise. La Trinité is listed in a Priority Security Zone (ZSP), and it’s about properly coordinating, better coordinating the work of the Gendarmerie, whose numbers have been increased, and the Municipal Police. I am also thinking of a multipurpose hall where associations and individuals can meet and work together to get to know each other and unite by pooling the capabilities of aggregation and organization of social and cultural life.

For the second, it focuses on the themes of the influence and appreciation of our church, a copy of a church from Turin, the Laghet Sanctuary, and the Observatory, which could also provide an economic contribution to the trade fabric of the city. And furthermore, the revival of the industrial role with the establishment of a center of excellence for craftsmanship.

Nice-Premium: Following your program, the transport system will become central…

Ladislas Polski: Not central but fundamental! The inhabitants of La Trinité are offended by the decision to abandon the promise of connecting our town to Nice via the tramway. Let’s be clear, telling us that it will be considered around 2030 is like saying no, you will never have the tram. Then some well-meaning souls tell us… But you have the regional train. Yes, there is the train and as a regional councilor, I am active in improving the schedule frequencies. But, a train can integrate with urban transport but never replace it. Everyone knows it, technicians and users, except those “advisors” who advise without knowing what they are talking about.

Nice-Premium: The electoral battle promises to be tough…

Ladislas Polski: Tough but exciting. I believe that our team, and I wish to emphasize the collective aspect of my approach, can truly be heard by
the voters, especially those, and there are many, who have given up voting due to lack of motivation. We must give these people hope again. The national policy does not help us but this election is above all that of the city’s mayor.

I have the ambition to believe that a good candidate with a beautiful program and a great team can succeed. That is the meaning of my commitment and motivation; it’s the republican values that inspire my passion for politics.
