As announced, the National Front revealed the list of its candidates for the legislative elections on June 11 and 18 yesterday afternoon.
Regarding the constituencies of Nice and its region (1st, 3rd, and 5th), one name stands out: Philippe Vardon, who, since his election to the Regional Council in December 2015, has become an influential leader within his party and a formidable player in local political life.
His “duel” (in the 3rd constituency) with the outgoing deputy Rudy Salles promises some exciting clashes (even if from a distance).
The third constituency is composed of the cantons of Nice-5, Nice-6, Nice-7, Nice-11, Nice-13.
Of the other two candidates, only one is already known: Chantal Agnely in the 5th constituency.
The fifth constituency is composed of the cantons of Lantosque, Levens, Nice-9, Nice-10, Nice-14, Roquebillière, Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, Saint-Martin-Vésubie, Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée.
The name for the 1st constituency is still missing, reserved for a representative of Debout la France as part of the agreements between the two allied parties for the presidential election. It will be known in the coming days.
It should be noted that the Niçois Olivier Bettati, co-leader with Philippe Vardon of the party in Nice, has been nominated in the 4th constituency, which includes the east of the department, where he will face the opponent vying for the succession of Menton’s mayor Guibal, who is not seeking reelection.
