Legislative elections: the second round approaches, 572 constituencies at stake

If five candidates for the National Assembly were elected in the first round this Sunday, there are still 572 constituencies at stake: 564 duels and eight three-way races.

According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, Ensemble! will be present in the second round in 410 constituencies, the Nupes in 362 constituencies, and the National Rally in 198, with LR having 71 candidates still in the running.

The second round of the legislative elections will feature 271 confrontations between Ensemble! and the Nupes out of 577, according to figures from the Ministry of the Interior. In 107 constituencies, a candidate from the majority will face a candidate from the National Rally. The leftist coalition will challenge the RN in 61 constituencies.

There will be 25 duels between the RN and The Republicans, who will also face the Nupes in 18 constituencies and Ensemble! in 24. The issue of blocking the far right will also arise in the 62 constituencies where Marine Le Pen’s party will face the Nupes led by Jean-Luc Mรฉlenchon.

Next weekend, eight three-way races are expected to decide the candidates, compared to only one in 2017.
