From January 21 to March 15 at the Lino Ventura Theatre
Loïc Swiny presents “Rappels,” his latest selection of photographic works: rock, jazz, punk, electro… music; his preferred field of expression is the stage.
A shapeshifting and unclassifiable photographer, who largely prefers substance over form, and perspective over all material considerations, Loïc
Swiny, a graphic designer and teacher by profession, is a man who refuses to categorize his works. Whether it involves
stage interventions or sports reportage, social projects or fetishist-themed proposals, this jack-of-all-trades
is clearly identified as an iconoclast among his peers.
Following “aLIVE,” an exhibition dedicated to the underground rock universe showcased at the m.us.e.a.a.v in Nice in 2009,
“Rappels” echoes the success of the former by offering a wider thematic selection; a second installment that
aims to be more open to less confidential musical worlds… without being any less significant.
Since the goal again is to avoid following the tracks, a monochrome selection of about thirty prints in
saturated contrasts, marking the author’s signature, will be presented; with variable formats, diptychs, or triptychs
highlighting the captures with a deliberately offbeat and emotional perspective, captured in the moment rather than in
journalistic demonstration.
A generous and jubilant encore series for all music lovers captured on photographic paper and for
all others, compulsively curious or future aficionados of concert halls with electric vibes.
