Opening of the exhibition “Vowels” this Friday the 10th at 5 PM at the Louis Nucéra Library

A Mail-Art tribute to Arthur Rimbaud by 70 major artists

Christian Balmier, the exhibition curator, sent a postal mail to 70 artists from the worlds of Comics and Contemporary Art, who responded by sending back, also by mail, a creation inspired by these two lines, in the imposed format of 120×30 cm folded into four panels of 30×30 cm, in the style of strips characteristic of American comics.

Thus, for nearly three years, “Vowels” letters traveled in the bags of postal workers to form a traveling exhibition rich with the visions of artists from diverse backgrounds.

70 artists, 70 universes as diverse as they are colorful, among which are figures such as Speedy Graphito, Ben, Baudouin, Viallat, or Charlelie Couture.
