Nice-Première: How is Mosalinea doing seven months later?
Mosalinea: Mosalinea experienced some success at the Nice-Artisanat fair with numerous sales, followed by a calmer period.
N-P: And your order book?
Mosalinea: My order book allows me to have a regular activity. I also organize mosaic discovery workshops in small groups, and these moments of exchange are very pleasant.
N-P: Who are your clients?
Mosalinea: My clients are individuals who discovered me at the Nice-Artisanat fair or through acquaintances.
N-P: What do your clients request the most?
Mosalinea: Glass mosaics using the stained glass technique are very popular. I have created paintings, mirrors, and a few table top commissions. My clients seek perfect integration of the object in their decor but with originality. They want a unique, custom-made piece.
N-P: What has been the most notable order for you this year?
Mosalinea: I really enjoyed making a large opalescent glass mirror for a very minimalist room. A single object can bring a fresh energy…
N-P: Now that you have your workshop, are you considering hiring?
Mosalinea: I am not planning to hire. I like to create my projects alone according to my inspiration of the moment.
N-P: Is it easy or difficult to balance family life and a craft business?
Mosalinea: Balancing family life and a craft business is not always easy, especially for a woman, as you have to be available for everyone! Since the workshop is near my home, I can work on weekends.
N-P: Is it easy or difficult to get known?
Mosalinea: To get known, you often have to showcase your skills, especially when you don’t have a shop. It requires time and energy. After that, people get to know you and talk about you to others.
N-P: On the 20th, 21st, and 22nd of October, you are opening your workshop doors, what will visitors discover?
Mosalinea: Yes. Visitors will be able to see how I work. Some original and exclusive works will be for sale, mainly in glass mosaic. On October 19th, I will be exhibiting at the Maison des Artistes in Cagnes-sur-Mer.
N-P: Is Mosalinea still passionate?
Mosalinea: Of course, Mosalinea is still very passionate, very creative.
