Municipal Elections 2020: Philippe Vardon (RN) calls for “a sustainable Nice”

Latest News

At the conclusion of his second Municipal Convention, Philippe VARDON, candidate for the Mayor of Nice, presented his three key proposals for a “Sustainable Nice”:

Stop the urbanization of the Var plain

Through a moratorium on current and planned constructions, and the protection of the remaining natural and fertile areas.

Promote local businesses in public procurement

By reserving no-procedure contracts (less than 25,000 euros) for local businesses, and introducing local social and environmental clauses in calls for tenders.

Enhance hillside transport

To reconnect the coastal-hillside link (where a third of the Nice population lives!), notably by commissioning high-frequency electric minibuses.

In his conclusions, Philippe Vardon emphasized the particularly concerning situation of the Var Plain and the excessive urbanization of some of the most fertile lands in Europe. He described these choices as “criminal for the future of our territory,” reminding us that, for him, “the Var plain should become the granary of the Metropolis again, and we should reintroduce agriculture there to aim for local food self-sufficiency.”
