As part of Nature Week, taking place from May 21 to 26, and the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22.
The Metropolis is offering numerous events to highlight the richness of metropolitan biodiversity. Site visits, guided hikes, observation sessions, visits to private gardens, educational workshops… From May 21 to 26, the Nature Festival invites you to discover the natural wealth of the Côte d’Azur.
The Nature Festival provides an ideal opportunity for all those who care for our natural heritage, our species, and our natural spaces to exchange ideas and share their love for nature. Organized by the association “The Nature Festival” with the support of the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), the goal of the Nature Festival is to be a moment of sharing and raising awareness about nature and biodiversity.
Schedule for the week:
- Tuesday, May 21: Conferences and debates “Biodiversity and Renaturation of Territories” at Parc Phoenix from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. in Salle Linné (Reservation required via email to environnement@ville-nice.fr).
- Wednesday, May 22: International Day for Biological Diversity on Promenade du Paillon from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (stands, workshops, music).
- Thursday, May 23: Botany course at the Maison de l’Environnement from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Reservation required via email to maisondelenvironnement@ville-nice.fr).
- Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24: Guided tours of the Natural History Museum at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Saturday, May 25: Workshop, walk, and hike – Composting workshop at the Maison de l’Environnement from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Reservation required via email to maisondelenvironnement@ville-nice.fr. Nature hike in Vallon obscur des Vallières (as part of the Curious about Nature program) – Grande Corniche walk in Beaulieu-sur-Mer (with the Maison de l’Environnement from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
- Sunday, May 26: Participatory inventory in Levens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
