What to do when bad weather persists if not to show patience?
The kickoff of the Nice Carnival could not have had a worse omen: the pouring rain forced the organizers to cancel the opening night on Friday evening and Saturday’s program.
And despite a light rain, the many tourists still had the pleasure of attending, this Sunday in the early afternoon, the Nissarde Parade on the Quai des Etats-Unis.
But, since it is said that rain brings luck, there is no doubt that Jupiter Pluvius* will know how to stop and return (with interest) to the Nice Carnival what it has just taken away!
The only event that could take place was the Carnaval Run for the enjoyment of more than 3,000 participants, many of whom took it in good spirit by wearing cheerful costumes.
A festive race par excellence, combining running and costumes, the Nice Carnaval Run marked the kickoff of the first weekend of the Nice Carnival festivities.
Fairies, sheriffs, wonder women, among others, and not to forget the decorated float with the Running Bottles, did not come to play against the clock but rather to have fun and try to stand out at the finish for the awards ceremony of the best costumes designated by the Deguisetoi.fr team, the official partner of the event.
The Lenval Foundation, committed to aiding sick children and the charitable partner of the Nice Carnaval Run, was honored during the awards ceremony by receiving an official check of โฌ1,105 from donations collected during the 2015 edition.
