Maintenance work will affect several districts of Nice. Tramway lines 2 and 3 will be adjusted starting this Sunday, April 26, in the evening until May 28. The city center, coastline, and eastern Nice are affected, with closed stations and replacement buses.
Mandatory maintenance work will alter the traffic of the tramway lines 2 and 3 in Nice. The period will extend from Sunday, April 26, to Thursday, May 28, inclusive. The adjustments concern the evenings from 9:22 PM until the end of service.
From April 26 to 30, the terminus will be set at “Jean Médecin”, in the heart of the city center. Stations located towards the east will no longer be served. Durandy, Garibaldi / Le Château, and Port Lympia are directly affected.
Travel will remain possible between Jean Médecin and Garibaldi thanks to line 1. This solution allows for maintaining a connection in the hyper-center and towards the old town.
Coastline and western Nice also affected from May
Starting May 3, the arrangement will evolve. Adjustments will concern Sunday to Thursday evenings, except on May 14 and 25. The terminus will be moved to “Magnan,” in the west of Nice.
Several areas will then be affected. The coastline will include the Mediterranean University Center. The city center will be impacted with Alsace-Lorraine and Jean Médecin. Eastern Nice will also be affected with Durandy, Garibaldi / Le Château, and Port Lympia.
In this context, tramway traffic will be interrupted on a large section connecting the west to the port.
Substitute buses are set up between Magnan and Port Lympia. This connection crosses a significant part of the city and links the affected districts.
An information system throughout the city
An information system is deployed at the stations of lines 2 and 3 as well as on the Lignes d’Azur website. Audio announcements and messages on screens complement the system. Information is also accessible online. “Lignes d’Azur thanks all travelers for their understanding.”
