With nearly one-third of the population being seniors, Nice is a city that naturally pays close attention to this demographic, which is mostly freed from professional commitments and has a lot of free time to engage in all kinds of cultural, social, and sporting activities.
As this is also an electorate that votes, and according to statistics, does so at a percentage much higher than average… they need to be taken care of, these old boys and girls, more sprightly than ever!
We must acknowledge that Christian Estrosi has given it his all: January Ball (with the Mayor’s greetings); Nouvelle Contest; SuperMamie; SeniorsChefs; Theater Festival, Starseniors; Charity Dance Gala… who can top that?
Nine seniors’ centers (Fรฉlix-Faure, Port Rรฉpublique, Pasteur, Barralis, Les Orangers, Le Ray, LUNA, and Forum Jorge Franรงois) welcome more than 2,000 members (holders of the PASS card) who can enjoy more than 20 activities and serve as information hubs for health prevention and civic engagement.
As the saying goes, appetite comes with eating, and activities will intensify after the summer break.
For example, starting in September, two Sundays a month, balls will take place in the prestigious setting of the Nice Opera House (on Place Pierre Gautier during the summer period).
Additionally, as part of the “seniors in shape” initiative, 14 gardens are currently open to nearly 1,000 seniors participating in the sessions (10 sessions/week, with about 100 participants on average). An additional session on the Promenade du Paillon is planned.
For the 25,000 holders of the Mรฉtropole Nice Cรดte dโAzur card (free of charge), the benefits of partnerships with 500 merchants remain in effect (with a minimum of 15% discount);
As they say in these cases, there’s something for everyone!
