For the 20th day of Ligue A, Nice Volley Ball hosted Plessis-Robinson on Saturday, February 11. The Eagles claimed a crucial home victory in the race to avoid relegation.
Ranked 12th in the championship, NVB absolutely had to win on their home ground against the 13th-ranked team in Ligue A, the Owls of Plessis-Robinson. Mission accomplished for the Eagles, who won in 4 sets (3-1).
Right from the start of the match, the Nice club set the pace and easily secured the first two sets (25-20 / 25-15). In the third set, the players from the southern suburbs of Paris managed to make more of a difference and won their first set. Although they could have faltered, Rafa Redwitz’s men fought hard to take the 4th set (25-23), sealing the victory. Nice’s Rodney Ken-Ah-Kong was named MVP of the match.
With this win, NVB remains 12th in Ligue A, but they widen the gap with the relegation zone, now holding a 6-point lead over Plessis-Robinson.
