The gala friendly match for Gym, which will take place on August 2 at the Allianz Riviera, was presented yesterday during a press conference at the Villa Masséna.
The conference gathered Christian Estrosi, deputy mayor of the City of Nice, along with Jean-Pierre Rivère, president of OGC Nice, Laurent Colette, marketing director of FC Barcelona, representatives of the company Anthem World that is organizing the match, as well as José Cobos and the president of the Allianz Riviera.
For Christian Estrosi, the project of this match aligns with the profitability of the Allianz Riviera, following matches of RC Toulon and the French national football team (while awaiting major music concerts and perhaps the French national rugby team). The mayor explained that the coming of FC Barcelona adds more value for Nice, both for the club and the city.

While expressing his “delight to be able to host Barça,” the president of Nice, Jean-Pierre Rivère, announced that the club will make a gesture regarding ticket prices, following the discontent of many supporters who felt the price was too high. Starting next Wednesday at the Allianz Riviera ticket office, 10,000 seats will be reserved for subscribers, with a subsidy of 30 euros per spectator. And for those who already have their tickets, they will be able to get a refund (for tickets priced at 25 euros, for example) in order to obtain better seats with the preferential rate.
For his part, Laurent Colette, representing the Spanish club, explained that it was a special match for him, as Nice is a club he is fond of. On behalf of the president of FC Barcelona, Laurent Colette stated that it was an “honor to face a big name in French football,” and that after touring in Asia or Eastern Europe, it was time to come back to a closer location. The marketing director of the Catalan club said at the end of the conference: “Nice is not a small team. They have a style of play similar to quite a few teams in the Spanish league. It will be good preparation for us.”
