On the occasion of the Battle of Flowers, Manelle Souhalia, Miss Côte d’Azur, wore a dress made of chocolate. “Opéra Barock,” from the Puyricard chocolate shop, required nearly 160 hours of work. Manelle Souhalia paraded alongside the actresses of the Battle of Flowers on Place Masséna.

The Opéra Barock dress is a creation by the Chocolaterie de Puyricard for the Salon du Chocolat in Paris. For the Nice Carnival, the master chocolatier added chocolate flowers to the bodice, in reference to the famous Battle of Flowers that takes place every year. The dress was crafted in the Puyricard workshops by stylist Ben Brass and Michel Panariello, master chocolatier. The dress worn by Miss Côte d’Azur weighs 7.2 kilograms, and the decoration required 25 sheets of 24-carat gold.
