Povedart, the colors like over there…

Latest News

During a visit to an exhibition, I came across a painting that now proudly hangs in my living room. It depicts three pétanque players measuring a point in a game that is as serious as it is friendly, which opened Pandora’s box of my childhood memories, imagining many people I know in the world of pétanque and in my life.

Let me explain, as the son of a club president and former local leader of Pétanque and Jeu Provençal, my childhood and youth were spent in various “Clos.”
It’s funny that we use the etymology of the verb “to close” for a place that is so open to everyone. In short, from Wednesday to weekend, I lived through the games of pétanque, experiencing “carreaux,” “tétons,” “raflettes,” and the inevitable losses by a score of “fanny.” These three players perfectly represented this world and a universe colored in the style of JPP.

Who is JPP?

Apart from being the author of the famous “papinades,” there is another JPP—Jean Pierre Poveda. As skilled as the quick-footed Marseille striker with a soccer ball, this painter expertly wields the art of color with a finesse marked by a happy moment from his past across the Mediterranean.

Perched in his eagle’s nest in the heart of Ardèche, you can still encounter him at exhibitions from Saint Jean Cap Ferrat to Menton because he is a member of the Aurélia Côte d’Azur association. Jean Pierre Poveda’s talents could have stopped at painting until he encountered…his PC. A new passion took hold of this artist who, within a few months, took the reins of his website www.povedart.com to now fully “pilot” it.

Nice Première invites you to visit the virtual galleries of this exhibition online, browsing through scenes of life ranging from his street and professions to his music corner, fishing, or nudes.
