The Elles des Moulins association conducts daily activities in the heart of the Saint-Augustin district, offering animation, training, and support for adults and children, particularly through theater and literacy workshops.
After “Les Elles et la plume” last year, nine members of the association have picked up their pens once again to collaboratively write a new book entitled “Shards of Life.”
“Shards of Life” is a more intimate book than the previous one. The participants in the writing workshops drew inspiration from their own stories or from confidences they gathered from their family or friends. The words bursting forth in this sensitive and moving book narrate the major stages of life: a birth, adolescence, mourning, marriage, separations…
“Shards, fragments of life… bursts of laughter, too rare, linked to memories of youth… shards, most often, of a broken life trying to be rebuilt… shards, always, of an inner light that makes these young girls in search of happiness and these brave mothers shine.”
The book is funded by the “réseau parents 06” and Nice Côte d’Azur as part of the Urban Social Cohesion Contract, but it owes its existence primarily to the enthusiasm and imagination of the association members.
