With over 49,000 passengers at the Nice platform on Sunday, July 15, 2012, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport set a historic record for one-day traffic.
This represents over 5,300 more passengers than July 30, 2011, the date of last year’s record, marking a growth of 12%.
It is also the first time that in one week, the platform received more than 300,000 passengers.
Overall traffic has increased by 6.6% since the beginning of the year, with international traffic up by 9.5%. The highest growth in terms of destinations in the first six months of the year are Barcelona, Doha, Tunis, Saint Petersburg, and Djerba.
The airlines most affected by this increase are Swiss, British Airways, and easyJet.
Also noteworthy in this record summer season: an increase of more than 12% in seat capacity compared to 2011.
