United Cities France is an association in which many French local authorities (communes, departments, regions) participate. It works on the establishment of decentralized cooperations between French local authorities and those worldwide. It has existed for 30 years, currently has 500 members, and runs a network of 3,000 territorial communities.
The City of Nice has been a member of United Cities France since 2009. Among other things, it has joined the India Country Group and the Tunisia Country Group.
Given the strong involvement of the City of Nice, considered one of the major players in the organization, Rudy Salles has just been elected Vice President.
Since joining, the City of Nice has notably participated in the Franco-Russian Assises in Strasbourg (2010), the Franco-Japanese Assises in Kanazawa (2009), the Franco-Armenian Assises in Yerevan (2011), and the Franco-Israeli Assises in Haifa (2011).
The City of Nice also helps support the decentralization of Lebanese local authorities for the past two years, in consultation with the MAE (France-Lebanon cooperation).
