Before hosting Aubenas this Saturday evening (7pm) at the Stade des Arboras, Manu Boutet, the coach of the RNCA, provides an update…
Is it a good thing for you not to have been able to play last weekend at Blagnac, or do you fear losing your cruising speed with four wins in the last four games?
M.B: “A bit of both. It’s true that we were on a winning streak. And more importantly, what bothers me are the slightly suspicious conditions in which this match was canceled. But on the other hand, it’s true that it allowed us to rest, to recover some injured players in the group, like Adrien Malavard.”
What do you take away from these two home victories against Bรฉziers and Montauban, two of the group’s favorites?
M.B: For me, it already means that we have made a big step forward compared to last season where we couldn’t win these crucial games. It was a bit of a recurring flaw. It shows that we are making progress and gives us a bit more confidence in our abilities. We are also aware that we won these matches by a hair’s breadth and that we could have lost them. We know that there is still a lot of work to do.”
A word on the opponent, Aubenas?
M.B: “They are a valiant team that puts in a lot of commitment. And then, they have an excellent kicker who scores almost 100% at each match. They are very effective away from home, as evidenced by their victory at Chateaurenard, where it is very, very difficult to win. And when they lose, they manage to secure the defensive bonus point.”
