The Thirty-Sixth edition of the Valbonne Cross “Running for Human Rights”
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be 71 years old on this occasion.
The International Convention on the Rights of the Child was 30 years old on November 20, 2019.
This is a sports competition that symbolically associates the participants’ commitment to show their support or sympathy for the cause of respecting and defending Human Rights.
At the start of the race, a booth offers participants and their supporters the opportunity to join the international operation “10 Days to Sign” in favor of 10 human rights defenders who are threatened and/or imprisoned… this year, the focus is on young people whose rights are violated.
Three courses are organized:
- 1 km at 10:00 a.m.,
- 4 km at 10:30 a.m.,
- 11 km at 11:15 a.m.
Starting from the Bermond farm in Valbonne-Sophia-Antipolis, the courses run through the Sophia-Antipolis forest, and for the longest course, through the old village of Valbonne, with a passage in Biot.
Real-time ranking (except for the 1 km course) and presentation of trophies to the top three in each category from 12:30 p.m. Over 500 participants are expected for this year 2019 across the 3 courses.
