The Regional Tourism Committee Côte d’Azur France, chaired by David Lisnard, and Atout France, are joining forces to promote and enhance the attractiveness of the destination CÔTE d’AZUR FRANCE by renewing the Destination Contract Côte d’Azur France, Land of Events, for the next three years.
This contract instigates an innovative marketing strategy based on a public-private partnership with the objective of increasing tourist numbers through the organization and promotion of three sectors: sports, culture, and business tourism.
Regarding the results of the previous contract, the effects of innovative and operational actions to boost tourism in the Côte d’Azur are tangible:
– Sport trips recorded an increase of +30% since the launch of the “sport & tourism” cluster during Euro 2016;
– In a highly competitive context, a rebound of +8% was observed in aviation trips’ motive stays from 2016 to 2018.
– As for the latest “culture & tourism” cluster, initiated at the end of 2018, it has been actively promoted for over a year through the implementation of a promotional action plan aimed at reaching the objective of 2 million. It aligns with the action plan of the Regional Tourism Committee CÔTE d’AZUR FRANCE, which targets around a hundred flagship actions for 2020.
Objective for 2025: A growth of 1.2 million stays in sports, professional, and cultural sectors.
