The 18th International Film Festival of Resistance: A Space for Reflection

Latest News

In order to promote the duty of remembrance, the Association of Friends of the National Resistance Museum, chaired by university professor Jean-Louis Panicacci, organizes a film festival every year focusing on World War II, particularly the Resistance.

The inauguration took place last night, in the presence of Eric Ciotti, president of the Departmental Council, who made the Mercury cinema available with the screening of the film “Lore,” an Australian-German-British film by Cate Shortland. It mixes romance and historical reflection and opens up a debate on the subtle and radical processes of denazification in Germany, implemented after the war by the Allies.

A unique opportunity for the people of the Cรดte d’Azur, especially the younger generations, to familiarize them with this great period of patriotism, offer them a space to reflect on the past, and better answer the questions they ask themselves today.

Organized in partnership with the Cinรฉ-Cafรฉ, the 18th International Film Festival on the Resistance will present until November 21, about fifteen films at the Mercury or at the Espace Garibaldi.

Each screening is free and followed by a debate with historians and key witnesses.
