The appointment is set from September 18 to 23, 2015, at the Mercury cinema for the 1st Czech Cinema Festival.
With immense author-directors who have left their mark on our imaginations such as Jirí Menzel, Miloš Forman, or Vera Chytilová, a unique cultural diversity, and a youth eager for creation, the Czech Republic forms a solid bastion of the avant-garde in international cinema.
Spectators will have the chance to attend screenings of films made by masters of Czech cinema, which are rarely shown in French movie theaters. This first edition is expected to give birth to an annual gathering.
Cinephiles will appreciate the diversity of Czech cinema with these 9 films:
Closely Watched Trains (1966) by Jirí Menzel
Secluded, Near Woods (1981) by Jirí Menzel (discussion with Jirí Menzel)
Who Wants to Kill Jessie? (1966) by Václav Vorlícek
Daisies (1966) by Vera Chytilová
Kolya (1996) by Jan Sverák
