Lucéram, the village, perched on its rocky spur, offers the image of a nativity scene. In a natural setting of fir trees and greenery, in various places of visit, one can discover a building, a neighborhood, and even the entire village of Lucéram, reproduced in miniature…

More than 500 traditional nativity scenes made by the residents are displayed along the circuit that visitors follow, under porches, washhouses, window sills, shop windows, at the Tower in a pile of wood, on a gutter, etc.

And also, in cellars, with shopkeepers, at the bread oven, St. Peter’s Chapel, Nativity Scene Museum, Maison de Pays, Placette, St. Margaret’s Church, Old Tools Museum, Val del Prat Oil Mill, Peïra-Cava Station, Turini.

From the smallest within half a hazelnut to the largest measuring 10 meters long, a whole range of nativity scenes is exhibited, varying in size and representation, from the most original to the most unusual: in a matchbox, a wooden clog, cougourdons, wrought iron, knitted…

The Nativity Scene Museum, on Adrien Barralis Square, presents more than 150 works, from the humblest to the most prestigious. The Nativity Scenes of the World, including a superb collectible Neapolitan nativity scene.

The Santons (“Little Saints”) are traditionally represented in clay or terracotta, painted. But in Lucéram, visitors find them dressed, in wood, fabric, wrought iron, salt dough, chalk, wax, in clothespins, knitted… and, the height of originality: in chocolate and champagne corks!

Their size varies from the smallest known as “Flea,” to one measuring 60 cm in height, to life-sized.
