The announcement was made during the 2018 New Year’s ceremony at Pasteur 2.
“It is now official, the Ministry of Health and the Regional Health Agency confirmed it in the last few hours: the total amount of aid allocated by the State for Pasteur 2 is guaranteed and secured: 257 million euros for the two phases, which is nearly 50% of the total cost of the work,” declared Christian Estrosi triumphantly, who, as the Mayor of Nice, is the president of the CHU.
This completion will allow for the consolidation of medical specialties in the facilities that will be constructed in continuity with the first phase.
The vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, and pulmonology services will thus be integrated into a coherent unit equipped with all the technological and medical advancements that will considerably improve patient care.
The goal is to welcome the first patients in December 2021.
The CHU of Nice includes, in its scope, in addition to Pasteur 2, which is nearing completion, the Archet and Archet 2, Cimiez Hospital, the University Institute of Face and Neck, the Claude Pompidou Institute dedicated to Alzheimer’s patients and research on this pathology.
