dames_lenval-2.jpg This Thursday, September 6, Christiane Scoffier, President of the Ladies of Lenval Committee, will present Dr. Dupont, Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Pediatric Hospitals of Nice CHU-Lenval, with a VDR4-type ventilation device and its monitoring unit, the MONITRONยฎ II โ€“ Percussionaireยฎ;

This device, whose clinical use is widespread in the USA, Belgium, and Italy, is beginning to be installed in certain Intensive Care Units in France.

It is considered a “future” device in France, especially for children since it can be used for both newborns and adolescents; it allows the treatment of all respiratory pathologies (bronchiolitis, drowning, septic shocks) while being the least aggressive device for children’s lungs currently available on the market.

Its acquisition for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Pediatric Hospitals of Nice will certainly bring progress in the quality of care for children’s respiratory conditions.” (approximately 52,000 โ‚ฌ including tax)

A unique device in Nice, for saving children with severe lung conditions

By supplementing respiratory functions, artificial ventilation devices are able to save children with severe lung conditions. The issue with mechanical ventilation is that, while this technique is essential, it creates positive pressures in the chest that lead to harmful effects, especially significant in young children. The challenge for manufacturers and doctors has been to offer increasingly efficient and less aggressive ventilators for children’s lungs.

This donation will be made in the presence of Professor Bougatef, Madame Monique Vienne, manager of IMAPe Percussionaire, Mr. Pierre Costa, President of the Lenval Foundation, Marine CORBUCCI, Deputy Director, members of the board of directors of the Lenval Foundation, and medical personnel from the Intensive Care Unit.
