“The little cabbages’ turn” to have their festival in Nice

The city of Nice, the Chou Theatre, and the Isatis association are organizing, from Monday, October 28 to Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Tour Gorbella Theatre for the second year, the festival “Around Little Cabbages.” Lauriano Azinheirinha, Deputy for Education, Youth, and Leisure Activities, will launch this festival on Monday at 10 AM.


On the occasion of this festival, within the Gorbella Leisure Activity Center, the “theatrical accessories” workshop of the FAM Club Orion Association ISATIS will exhibit its artistic creations inspired by the world of fairy tales. The ISATIS association works for the social and professional integration of adults suffering from mental disorders.

Under the theme of greenery, this festival offers young audiences six theatrical performances and the opportunity to participate in creative workshops (mail art, theater, and puppets).

From 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM > Mail Art Workshop for children aged 6 to 12

Bellinda Casaurang, a professional illustrator and visual artist, invites children to create their own letters. The letters will be adorned (collages, autumn leaves, fabrics, various supports, and materials…) according to their talent and imagination.

At 2 PM and 4 PM > Thumbelina based on Andersen

With Thumbelina, embark on an exciting journey through water, air, and even underground. This workshop is led by Lionel Véran, actor and director of La Cie du Théâtre Chou. Children will experience the joys of the stage and discover how to transition from reading “Little Red Riding Hood” to performing.

At 11:30 AM: Performance by the children for their parents.

At 2 PM and 4 PM > The Emperor’s Nightingale based on Andersen

In those days, the emperor was Chinese, his castle the most magnificent in the world, his garden the largest and most wonderful there was. Beyond it stretched a forest. In this forest lived a little nightingale… A show filled with song and enchantment!

From 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM > Puppet Workshop for children aged 6 to 12

Bellinda Casaurang, a professional illustrator and visual artist, invites children to create their puppets or poppets. For those who wish, an introduction to manipulation and voice exploration is offered.

At 2 PM and 4 PM > Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack lives alone with his mother, and times are tough. One day, their old cow no longer giving milk, he sets out to sell it at the market.
