Christian Estrosi has reaffirmed his support for merchants by launching a new assistance scheme for local economic players. Called “booster commerces,” this aid is entirely financed by the Metropolis.

“Booster commerces” fits into the 140,000€ scope of the 60 million euro investment plan adopted in July by the Metropolis in favor of the local economy. It is an initiative by its president Christian Estrosi, who has surrounded himself with various partners like the Chamber of Trades, Initiative Côte d’Azur, and the Regional Institute of Business Leaders. Among them, the Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, through the voice of Jean Pierre Savarino, has expressed its intent to protect and support companies in difficulty. “This support will be very personalized with diagnostics, an evaluation, a commitment, followed by support. All of this should allow a number of companies to recover or convert.”

In addition to this support dimension, the goal will be to enable small merchants primarily to turn to digitalization in order to attract a new, younger clientele that has drifted away from city centers in recent years in favor of large shopping malls.

The scheme is set to advise and train around a hundred artisans and merchants in the coming weeks who were not ready to invest in digital technology. With the COVID-19 epidemic, these individuals have particularly suffered the most and some find themselves in precarious situations requiring a rapid rescue to safeguard jobs.

The operation will also emphasize sustainable development, eco-responsibility, and the promotion of short distribution channels to enable local mutual aid.

A “One-Stop Shop” will be set up to answer entrepreneurs’ questions about the health crisis situation. This location will host representatives from various city services in Nice, as well as other institutional representatives such as URSSAF or associations like “Initiatives Côte d’Azur” and “Team Côte d’Azur.”
As a reminder, the CCI’s one-stop shop is always available to support companies in difficulty.

No less than 50 actions tailored to needs will be offered, such as free on-street parking for merchants who have a subscription valid until the end of the year (a refund for those who have already paid will be made).
