The mountain biking challenge has begun!

Latest News

If there is one place in France that lends itself to mountain biking, it is the Alpes-Maritimes. An ideal compromise between the mild climate and technical terrains, the department gathers all the necessary conditions to indulge in this sport.

Moreover, prestigious names in the discipline are from the region, such as Nicolas Vouilloz (10-time world champion), Fabien Barel (3-time world champion), and Loic Bruni (2-time world champion).

It is therefore only natural that the Departmental Cycling Committee, in partnership with the Departmental Council, has decided to create the “Challenge Descente VTT 06”.

This first edition, which opens in March, will include 5 events.

The competition is open to women and junior women, as well as categories from cadets to master 50 for men.

Downhill mountain biking requires a certain level of proficiency, making it an extremely visual discipline, which promises extraordinary moments of spectacle at each date of this new competition.

This challenge is based on 5 dates organized by associations affiliated with the Departmental Cycling Committee (French Cycling Federation): Blausasc, this weekend; and upcoming, La Moulière on May 7 and 8; La Colmiane on May 21 and 22; Roubion on May 28 and 29; concluding at Isola 2000 on August 20 and 21.
