1. Equalizer 3 by Antone Fuqua
Equalizer 3 is the third installment of the American franchise adapted from the television series of the same name that aired in the 80s. Former CIA agent Robert McCall now lives in the south of Italy, having given up his role as a government assassin. There, he makes some acquaintances, but when he discovers that his new friends are under the control of the local mafia, he decides to return to action to help them. The film is not suitable for children under 12.
2. ร ma Gloria by Marie Amachoukeli
Clรฉo, six years old, has been raised since birth by Gloria, her Cape Verdean nanny, a maternal figure she loves dearly. Forced to return to her own home, to be with her children, Gloria leaves the little girl behind with a promise to see each other again as soon as possible. The absence is difficult, so the nanny invites her foster daughter to spend one last summer together on her island.
3. Banel et Adama by Ramata-Toulaye Sy
The Franco-Senegalese director Ramata-Toulaye Sy reveals her first feature film, a movie that blends fairy tale and tragedy, which was in competition at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. In a small village in northern Senegal affected by drought live Banel and Adama. The two young individuals are bonded by a strong love, a passion fighting to continue to exist and dreaming of breaking free from pre-established rules.
4. Super-Bourrรฉs by Bastien Milheau
Bastien Milheau’s debut feature film, this offbeat French comedy follows the escapades of two teenagers, Janus and Sam, living in a countryside village in the southwest. On the last day of high school, the two friends must bring alcohol to attend the end-of-year party. They venture into Janus’s father’s cellar and make the discovery of a strange machineโฆ Jean Lassalle, former French deputy and presidential candidate, has a small role in the film.
5. Alam by Firas Khoury
Alam tells the story of Tamer, a Palestinian teenager who leads a relatively normal teenage life with his group of friends until the arrival of the beautiful Maysaa, a new student at his high school who arrives from Jerusalem. To impress her, Tamer agrees to join a mysterious flag operation titled “Alam” on the eve of Israeli Independence Day, a day of mourning for Palestinians.
