The PHOTON association is offering a collective photographic exhibition (29 photographers) titled “4 X 4” at the Regional Council’s Antenna, 33 Notre Dame Avenue.
4 X 4: Grasping the same through the many. Circumventing the essential solitude of photography, breaking its unity by choosing a fragmented vision, a fan-like vision. Multiple composition, intersected with four entries, four attempts to better capture the mystery, four emerging precisions.
Because the object, the same, resists, it needs to be opposed with this poetic diffraction. Like the four seasons of a thing. Bringing to light, visibly, the work in progress: approaching the object, changing the point of view, trying, inventing harmonies, connivances.
In doing so, what is illuminated are the multiple small variations. Favoring the gradual over the sudden revelation. Preparing the trap, subtly.
These 29 photographers from the Photon Collective enjoyed preparing these subtle traps to, in the original sense, captivate the gaze. Will you let yourself be caught?
