Five pizzaioli from the Alpes-Maritimes have qualified for the final of the French Pizza Championship, which will take place on April 2 and 3, 2025, in Paris. They will compete against 125 other candidates in six events to try to win a title.
The French Pizza Championship returns on April 2 and 3, 2025, in Paris, as part of the Snack Show – Parizza. This event, organized by the French Pizzerias Association, will bring together 130 pizzaioli selected after a series of qualifying rounds. Among them, five professionals from the Alpes-Maritimes will attempt to win a title.
This year again, the competition attracted numerous candidates. More than 400 pizzaioli participated in the France Pizza Tour, a qualifying circuit across mainland France and the island of La Rรฉunion. Following this selection, 130 of them secured their place for the final in Paris.
Several Techniques Evaluated
The events will showcase different techniques and preparation styles. Candidates will compete in six categories: classic pizza, pizza duo (โpizza a dueโ), largest pizza, speed, dessert pizza, and acrobatic pizza. A โresponsible pizzaโ award will also reward an eco-friendly approach.
Among the qualifiers, five pizzaioli from the Alpes-Maritimes will represent the region:
- Dany Herta (Nice โ LโAuthentique Pizzeria)
- Giovanni Di Cristina (Le Cannet โ Papagiรฒ)
- Jรฉrรฉmy Richard (Vence โ Pizza de lโAra)
- Philippe Alibert (Mandelieu-la-Napoule โ CAP Pizza)
- Marco Ruolo (Cannes โ La Boutique de Marco)
โThis year, the enthusiasm for the French Pizza Championship is stronger than ever. Pizzaioli are increasingly numerous and determined to secure a place among the best,โ says Julien Panet, president of the French Pizzerias Association.
The event, which will be held at Porte de Versailles, will be an opportunity for these artisans to showcase their expertise before a panel of specialists. The winners of each category will be announced after two days of intense competition.
