Saturday, September 6, 2008, starting at 7:00 PM at the Port of Nice, the 5th edition of “Lou Festin dou Pouort” will take place, themed: “Flavors and Traditions of the Mediterranean Ports.”
On this occasion, the port of Nice will be divided into five main zones representing the countries and ports featured: Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, and France.
This grand public festival will allow the people of Nice to reclaim the port and remind them of its importance in local and regional economic development.
Each of the port’s quays will become the stage for a grand celebration where musicians, actors, and dancers will perform to showcase the flavors and traditions of the Mediterranean ports and countries: Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, and France, illustrated by Nice and its port, placed at the center of the project.

The Events
– 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM: Throughout the quays.
Street performances and musical entertainment, activities, and fun workshops for children…
– 10:30 PM to 10:40 PM: Fireworks display from the Breakwater.
– 10:40 PM to 12:30 AM: Popular dances on the quays with orchestras in different styles.
The Dining
Throughout all the port’s quays: food and tasting stands representing the various invited countries.
Around the port: all restaurants will be open with outdoor seating.
The “Village of Chefs” and the winemakers of Bellet with the Slow Food movement, will be composed of: 8 renowned chefs (Christian PLUMAIL, Luc SALSEDO, Jean-Louis RIEUBLAND, Jouni TORMANEN, Christian & Thomas MILLO, Marc LAVILLE, Michel DEVILLERS, Benjamin BRUNO), 2 great pastry chefs (Serge SERAIN, Pascal LAC) and 10 winemakers (the Clos St Vincent, the Coteaux de Bellet, the Domaine de Toasc, the Chรขteau de Cremat, the Domaine de la Source, the Collet de Bovis, the Chรขteau de Bellet, Domaine Augier, Domaine Saint Jean, Domaine Vinceline).
About a dozen quality artisans will also be present at the village of chefs to help you discover French gastronomy.
