<img28127|left>Today, the Prom’Classic has become THE must-do 10 km race at the start of the season, the “CLASSIC” event to mark in an athlete’s calendar to start off on the right foot every year.
Last year, the Prom’Classic made a strong impression by bringing together two extraordinary athletes at the starting line: Hicham El Guerrouj, the king of middle-distance running, as a participant, and Ladji Doucouré, World Champion in the 110 m hurdles, as the starter of the race. These two exceptional presences caught the interest of the press, particularly the newspaper L’EQUIPE. As a result, the Prom’ gained a whole new level of fame!
In 2009, the organizers hope to reach the milestone of 5,000 registrants and offer an even more beautiful event to its competitors.
This Sunday, January 11, the two lanes of the Promenade des Anglais will once again allow you, ladies and gentlemen, to experience, we hope, an unforgettable moment.
The (friendly) competition between the ladies and the gentlemen will remain a highlight since the staggered start between men and women, a feature unique to the Prom’Classic, will allow female competitors to start 5 minutes ahead of their male opponents.
While waiting to see who, Madam or Sir, will cross the finish line first, bets are open and registration can be done on www.promclassic.com until January 8, 2009.
