Turning on her vehicle’s lights caused the pair to flee immediately. This report triggered a series of coordinated actions between the National Police and the Municipal Police of Saint-Laurent-du-Var.
An arrest facilitated by video surveillance
The Urban Supervision Center of Saint-Laurent-du-Var spotted shortly after a vehicle matching the description. Police Emergency Response units and the Municipal Police proceeded to arrest the two occupants. A search of the vehicle revealed goods from a business in Cagnes-sur-Mer that had been burglarized during the same night. The cash register had been stolen, and a sum of money matching the amount stolen was found on one of the suspects. The two individuals were placed in police custody.
Initial findings directed investigators toward a series of similar crimes committed since December 2025 on the same jurisdiction. Immediate legal proceedings in Grasse
Police custody was extended before referral to the judicial court in Grasse for an immediate appearance. The Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police of the Alpes-Maritimes clarifies the decisions handed down: “one was sentenced to two years in prison, the other to a one-year prison sentence with a remand order.”
The seized money was handed over to the Departmental Directorate of Public Finances. The stolen items were returned to the victims.
