Festival of Nature: local biodiversity in the spotlight in Nice

On the occasion of the Festival of Nature, the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur offers several activities to discover local biodiversity. Nature walks, rallies, participatory workshops, conferences and hiking will punctuate this edition organized at different natural sites in Nice and the metropolitan area.

Highlights include: a nature rally at Honoré d’Estienne d’Orves park, walks along the Paillon promenade and Castle hill, a hedgehog building workshop at the Environmental House, as well as an evening observing night butterflies on the Valrose campus of Côte d’Azur University.

The event is part of the “Curious about Nature” operations and within the framework of Nice’s participatory atlas of municipal biodiversity.

Maison Masséna: Ma2thieu’s first solo exhibition

Maison Masséna welcomes artist Ma2thieu’s first solo exhibition. Conceived as a true immersion in his universe, this exhibition brings together unpublished works around painting, color and gesture.

Between abstraction, textures and influences from graffiti and hip-hop culture, the artist offers a sensory journey mixing contemplation and interaction. Three collaborative works created with artists close to Ma2thieu will also punctuate the exhibition.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Charles Aznavour

A Candlelight concert pays tribute to the great Charles Aznavour through an intimate musical experience lit by candlelight.

In a warm and immersive atmosphere, the artist’s greatest hits are revisited in instrumental version, offering a sensitive rediscovery of his repertoire. This unique format highlights the emotion, nostalgia and poetry of Aznavour’s songs.

European Night of Museums: a cultural evening in Nice

The European Night of Museums takes over several cultural venues in Nice with free programming mixing guided tours, artistic performances, workshops and concerts. The public can rediscover the city’s museums in a festive and nighttime atmosphere.

Highlights include: guided tours at the Charles Nègre Photography Museum around Justine Tjallinks’ exhibition, Gallo-Roman activities at the Nice/Cimiez Archaeology Museum, participatory workshops at the Matisse Museum or performances in the Villa Arson gardens with MAMAC outside the walls.

The Lascaris Palace, the Marc Chagall National Museum, the Asian Arts Museum and the Lympia departmental cultural space will also participate in this edition with concerts, shows, tours and cultural mediation.

The Trial Indoor International returns for a spectacular edition at Palais Nikaïa, with the world’s best riders gathered for a high-level show.

The Young Dream & Friends Festival returns for a 2nd edition at the Theatre of Greenery in Nice with a weekend dedicated to urban culture and performing arts.

On the program: dance battles all styles (hip-hop, krump, afro), concerts, DJ sets and performances by local artists. The festival also offers a cultural village with food space, drinks, kids area, VIP and creators’ market.

Designed as a festive and friendly event, Young Dream & Friends transforms the Theatre of Greenery into a true meeting place between dance, music and urban creation, in a sunny atmosphere in the heart of Nice.

March of the Animals: Nice mobilized for animal welfare

The City of Nice organizes the fifth edition of the March of the Animals, a festive and committed event dedicated to animal welfare. Supported by several local associations, the event will bring together dogs, cats and other animals for a large friendly march on the Promenade des Anglais.

Launched on the initiative of Henry-Jean Servat, this event will take place in the presence of Éric Ciotti. It also highlights the actions taken by the City to better integrate animals into urban space and adapt the city to their needs.

Last year, the event brought together over 1,000 participants and as many dogs, as well as llamas, donkeys, and several other species.

Exhibition at the Port of Nice: Lilette and Gilbert Valentin honored

The Lympia departmental cultural space welcomes a major retrospective devoted to ceramicists Lilette and Gilbert Valentin, figures of the post-war artistic renewal in Vallauris. Through over one hundred works, photographs and archival documents, the exhibition traces nearly fifty years of creation around ceramics, enamels and Méca-art.

The tour immerses visitors in the free and experimental universe of the couple, whose work crossed paths with major figures like Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau and Jacques Prévert.
