While strolling through “piazza Borea D’Olmo”, we are attracted by an original “canzona” that skillfully blends Italian with French over a rap and swing beat. Moreover, this song is not unfamiliar to us. Let’s try to learn a little more about this young performer.
He goes by the name Sacha, he’s in his twenties, has a “handsome face” and typically Italian features. He’s a Neapolitan who trained in Monaco. He likes lyrics that have meaning, and he composes and writes his own songs.
Without hesitation, Sacha agrees to chat with Nice-Première and even invites us to refresh ourselves at Lélé’s pizzeria. Nice.
**Nice-Première: What does the Sanremo Festival represent for you?**
For now, I see the Sanremo Festival as a “spearhead” for young artists like me. It allows me to get publicity because I’m not aiming to “participate” in the Sanremo festival. I’m Italian but I sing in French. Unless I find a record label that offers me to participate, but for now I hope to have good record sales. This event is important for promoting my album “C’est la vie”, which has been on sale for a month.
**NP: What are your goals?**
The best would be to reach the “Festivalbar”. It’s the most important event in Italy.
I would also be delighted if one day I attend the Sanremo Festival as a guest.
**NP: Tell us about the remix of the song “Tu sei l’unica donna per me” that you created:**
I sing this remix with another singer. His name is Roberto Lauro, better known as “Pazzo Apparente”.
I want to clarify that I didn’t do a literal translation of the text. I like to personalize, even just a little, the songs I cover! But my greatest pleasure is writing my “canzoni”. Moreover, practically all the ones I sing come from me.
**NP: What surprise do you have in store for your fans and future fans?**
The release of a new album in about two months. It would be great in France too! If the opportunity arises, I think my album will be successful in France.
**NP: What do the songs you write yourself hide?**
The album is titled “C’est la vie”. But I could have called it “C’est ma vie”! In reality, this album is very autobiographical because if you listen to the lyrics, you can discover my story.
Besides, anyone can find themselves in it because these songs mainly speak of love, a bit of suffering, and of course joy.
**NP: Why did you choose “singer” as a career?**
Out of passion! I’ve been playing piano “by ear” since childhood. I’m not a pianist at all and I admit it without any shame.
My mother has always sung. She must have passed on the love of music to me… But it’s true that at first I didn’t want to sing. I was encouraged a bit as a child and since then I haven’t stopped!
**NP: What is your greatest dream?**
It has nothing to do with music! (It’s a secret).
**NP: Can you define yourself in three adjectives?**
Gentle, perfectionist, and caring.
**What are your three main flaws?**
Too available, stubborn, and too altruistic.
Because when you get knocked down because of that, it can’t be any other way…
**NP: You sing in French and have already made some appearances on French airwaves. What does the French Riviera represent for you?**
Magnificent! The French Riviera is really beautiful. In my eyes, it’s well organized, and it has everything you need: Attractions, nightclubs, … Plus the people are polite.
**NP: What is your favorite city on the French Riviera?**
The city where I grew up: Monaco. There, I really feel at home.
**NP: What message would you like to leave to Nice-Première internet users?**
Buy my album! (Laughs!!!!)
Here is an excerpt from the first song on the album: Dammi il tuo amore
