Do you know about the Nice Awakening?

Latest News

This young club, 80 years old, has 85 members, of which 64 are licensed basketball players spread across 7 teams. Some also receive Italian lessons there.

Located in the eastern district of Nice, the club spreads its love for basketball and good cheer unstintingly, always with a smile. It’s not all about competition at any cost, although that’s important for everyone; the desire to play and friendship are the keywords for the children who thrive month by month and season by season under the caring eyes of their coaches.

The adult members have just as much joviality as the younger ones and are also diligent in their training. Even though some couldn’t imagine leaving the warmth of their cozy homes on Sunday, they now eagerly rise at dawn, whatever the season, looking forward to the Sunday match and the joy of being together on the field.

The community spirit reigns supreme at meals and other season-ending parties, King’s cake celebrations, and other spontaneous events.

Over the past four years, the number of licensed members has steadily increased, with veterans desiring to get more involved and lead. Two state-certified coaches and four federation-recognized or trainee coaches ensure the sporting journey for the youngest members, like toddlers and mini-cadets.

Three venues welcome them: Guillaume Apollinaire High School, Port Lympia College, and the outdoor stadium at Mont Boron. If you’re interested in joining, places are available in various teams and some are eager to form.

Their big project for 2008 is an international mini-basket tournament currently in preparation. For this occasion, the staff is expanding and parents are rallying around this great team. Additionally, club members are extending a welcome to retirees who are bored and wish to join in the organization or management.
