For the Nice Book Festival 2009, which will take place on June 12, 13, and 14, 2009, more than 200 authors will gather around the theme of ‘The Sea,’ with a focus on the ‘Detective Novel.’
This edition of the Festival will also be an opportunity to meet numerous Moroccan authors: Morocco being the guest country of honor.

This year, the Nice Book Festival 2009 has chosen Mr. Franz-Olivier Giesbert, Director of Le Point, as its Artistic Director, a figure at the crossroads of media.

An opportunity to dive into an exceptional program: debates hosted by Natacha Polony, journalist at Marianne, meetings with Michel Le Bris, Patrick Poivre dโArvor, Irรจne Frain, Eric Surcouf, a panel discussion by Olivier and Cรฉcile de la Rochefoucauld, and a great program from the cinematheque.

The Detective Novel… featuring meetings with authors specializing in the genre: Jean d’Aillon, Laurent Chalumeau, Patrick Graham, DOA, Antoine Chainas…, an exhibition, and round tables led by Laurent Seksik, journalist and writer.
And, for the first time since the Festival’s inception, the City of Nice has reached out to the association “Libraire(s) ร Nice” (independent booksellers), to award a French-language book published within the year.
