On the positive side for the Eaglets, Pierre-Alain Frau and Bonaventure Kalou will be absent from the Nice green due to injuries. However, former Nice player Sammy Traoré, who missed the last Parisian match against Lyon, is expected to be listed on the match sheet and thus return to a stadium he knows well and where he made a significant impact during his time on the French Riviera. Like his teammates, Sammy will be aiming for a victory in Nice to end the season freely, away from the threat of relegation that still looms over Paul Le Guen’s team.
Over the past four years, Nice-PSG matches have not been prolific in goals, with a Nice victory last year (1-0), two draws (2004: 1-1, 2003: 0-0), and a Parisian victory in 2004 (1-2). The goal of the Nice commando team is clear: to tip the statistics in their favor.
If they win, the Eaglets would be just one point behind the Parisians but, more importantly, would definitively secure their place in the next Ligue 1 season.
The referees for this evening will be Stéphane Bré with the whistle, assisted by Messieurs Dagorne and Galibert.
On the fringes of this match, an operation against violence in stadiums will be co-organized by the association Sian d’Aqui and SOS Racisme.
