The Franco-Algerian director Rabah Ameur Zaïmèche honors us by sponsoring Cinéalma 2008. His film, Dernier Maquis, noted at the Cannes Film Festival 2008 during the Directors’ Fortnight and praised by critics, will be screened as a national premiere on Sunday, October 19, at 8:30 PM. It will be released in theaters on October 22.

Exclusively for Cinéalma, Rabah Ameur Zaïmèche will present his “intention” of cinema.
He will be present from Saturday, October 18, and will be able to answer journalists’ questions.
Films will be offered in preview such as Il Divo by Paolo Sorrentino, Ce Cher Mois D’Août by Miguel Gomes, as well as Il Resto Della Notte by Francesco Munzi and, of course, Dernier Maquis by R-A Zaïmèche.
Spectators will have the opportunity to meet directors, actors, or other members of the film teams such as Eid De Gaulle, the assistant of Youssef Chahine, Maya Sanbar, the co-producer of The Salt of the Sea, Enric Rufas, co-screenwriter of Solitude…
They will also be able to enjoy great films that participated in the official selection of Cannes, such as Sanguepazzo on Monday, October 20, by Marco Tullio Giordana (“Our Best Years”), who will be present to introduce his film. He will be able to answer journalists’ questions from the day before.
Cinéalma is the pleasure of cinema but also the promotion of cultural diversity to foster the knowledge of history, memory, and cultural heritage from countries of immigration. Cinéalma this year is part of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.
