Since early December, the French ski cross and snowboard cross teams have been in training at Isola 2000 and have decided to extend their stay at the Isola 2000 resort by an additional week. “Because the snow conditions are ideal,” says Franรงois Olivier, head of the competition circuit in France. “Isola 2000 offers us the only Boardercross available at this time of the year in Europe… it’s quite rare to be able to train in these conditions. We have everything, the snow, the weather, the track…”
Snowboard cross is an Olympic discipline, and ski cross will become one during the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010.
Among the members of the French men’s and women’s teams present at the resort are Pierre Vaultier, winner of the 2007/2008 World Cup and current leader of the 2008/2009 World Cup in snowboard cross, and Ophรฉlie David, double winner of the ski cross World Cup.
