Fabien Benard tracks down hidden Scientology in Nice.

Latest News

He is one of the components of political life in Nice, primarily in the 6th district of Nice. Even though he (yet) does not hold an elected position, Fabien Benard, who has chosen the MoDem house, closely follows local life and often analyzes it on his website, Facebook, or Twitter. A “Poligeek” who has successfully embraced new technologies and frequently uses them well. Having consulted us on a matter involving the Church of Scientology in Nice, Nice Premium was pleased to give him the opportunity to react in its columns, with the statements being solely the author’s responsibility.

We are thus publishing this letter that calls for vigilance regarding information sources! Is Scientology really behind the so-called “Citizen Commission on Human Rights” which challenges the practice of treatments in psychiatric hospitals like Sainte-Marie? A rather concerning hypothesis that requires clarification from competent authorities.

scient.jpg The news broadcast of France 3 Côte d’Azur on Saturday, October 30 and the daily Nice-Matin, edition of Sunday, October 31 reported on a demonstration composed of about twenty participants in front of the gates of the Sainte Marie psychiatric hospital in Nice, organized by the “Citizen Commission on Human Rights.” And this, without ever specifying that the “Citizen Commission on Human Rights” that attacks psychiatric hospitals all over France was indeed a front for Scientology!
I deeply regret that Nice Matin and F3 Côte d’Azur were so misled!

In France, according to the Interministerial Mission for the Fight against Cults, today replaced by MIVILUDES, the pseudo-Church of Scientology tries to “infiltrate the public mental health system” through the CCHR and the Ethics and Freedom association, which propose “to assist in their missions” the services of the State by obtaining the annual reports of the Departmental Commissions on Psychiatric Hospitalizations and publishing them as an allegedly official document.

The UNADFI, the main association for informing and defending families or victims of cults, reports on its site about recent similar demonstrations.

A simple and quick internet search would have allowed journalists to see what this association truly is. As covered by the medical news site “Actusoins”, the psychology division of Scientology.

My concern stems from the fact that this association (registered name, like a brand) has the means to send 50,000 DVDs produced in the United States advising against our doctors prescribing anti-antidepressants and buys email address files to conduct mailings, as evidenced by one I received in March 2010, reproduced below my message.

Finally, I wish to express my indignation that this subsidiary of a sectarian organization appropriates the notion of “human rights,” thus giving itself credibility or causing confusion in the mind of a distracted witness or a hurried reader-viewer.

Hoping for increased vigilance from significant media outlets like France 3 and Nice-Matin, I can only hope to see supplementary information quickly directed towards readers and viewers, following the necessary investigation and cross-referencing of information.
