On Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 9:30 AM, Mr. Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, and Mr. Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis, will visit the renovation work of the Anglican Church, in the presence of Mgr Kenneth Letts, Rector of the Anglican Church of Nice, Vicar General of the Anglican Church for France, and Co-president of the National Catholic Anglican Commission.
The Holy Trinity Anglican Church, built between 1860 and 1862, is undergoing significant renovations, including safety improvements and enhanced accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
To preserve this historic architectural ensemble, master glassmakers are working on the remarkable stained glass windows created by the Lorin workshop in Chartres. The facades are being restored, and replacement stones are also being crafted. Additionally, garden cemetery improvements are planned, reaffirming this location’s status as a genuine haven of peace and greenery in the heart of Nice.
For 150 years, this church has been an international space for welcome and exchange, open daily to the public.
This project, with a total cost of 747,000 euros, has been subsidized to the tune of 373,000 euros by the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes and 15,000 euros by the City of Nice.
