The prestigious ceremony that honors the brave men and women who have fought against anti-Semitism and for the legitimacy of the state of Israel takes place on January 25 at the Nice Opera House.
For this 8th edition of the Menoras dโOr, the organizers have gone all out. The event will be held at the Nice Opera House, with a program featuring entertainment, concerts, and award presentations. “The evening is under the honorary presidency of the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi,” recalls Rudy Salles, deputy mayor responsible for tourism and international relations.
In the first part of the evening, there will be three musical performances featuring renowned artists. Pianist Jonathan Benichou, soprano Candice Trojman, and the Sirba Octet orchestra. Finally, Dany Brillant will conclude the evening. Thrilled, Alain Cohen, creator of the Menoras dโOr, explains, “We expect a large crowd for this exceptional evening.”
During the evening, 7 personalities will receive Menoras dโOr to honor their fights against anti-Semitism worldwide. Photographer, writer, journalistโฆ Many people each year leave with this award. “I received it in 2008 and do not regret it. It’s truly an immense emotion to receive such an award,” recalls Rudy Salles.
An initiative of B’nai B’rith
Present worldwide for 160 years, the B’nai B’rith organization represents all trends of Judaism and social diversity. “It fits within the commitment of the Menoras dโOr: harmony, kindness, and brotherly love,” specifies Brigitte Tanauji-Dahan, responsible for organizing this 8th edition of the Menoras. B’nai B’rith fights for the sustainability of the state of Israel and against anti-Semitism and racism.
“This event means a lot to the organization. It is among the 10 most important events in the Jewish world according to the Conference of Presidents and American B’nai B’rith,” concludes Brigitte Tanauji-Dahan, eager for the celebration to begin.
