The thirteenth edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival, presided over by Ezio Greggio, is entirely dedicated to comedy, including the screening of MI GRAN NOCHE by Alex de la Iglesia, presented out of competition.
The international festival competition features 8 comedies, with French premieres such as RYUNZO AND HIS SEVEN HENCHMEN by Takeshi Kitano (Japan, 2015), LIZA THE FOX-FAIRY by Károli Uji Mészáros (Hungary 2015), MARIE AND THE MISFITS by Sébastien Betbeder in a world premiere (France, 2016), LOST IN MUNICH by Petr Zelenka (Czech Republic, 2015), DEATH BY DEATH by Xavier Seron (Belgium, France, 2016), ANACLETO AGENTE SECRETO by Javier Ruiz Caldera (Spain 2015), MEN & CHICKEN by Anders Thomas Jensen (Denmark 2015), THE LEGEND OF BARNEY THOMSON by Robert Carlyle (Great Britain 2015).
The new comedy by Fausto Brizzi FOREVER YOUNG, in a world premiere with the director and part of the cast present, will constitute a unique opportunity offered to the public on Friday, March 4th, while on Saturday, March 5th, ALL ROADS LEAD TO ROME by Ella Lemhagen will be presented, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, Raoul Bova, Claudia Cardinale, and Rosie Day, with the presence of Claudia Cardinale.
On Saturday, at 11 o’clock, the film BELMONDO PARA BELMONDO by Paul Belmondo will be screened, with the director present. A tribute that the son, Paul, dedicates to his father, Jean Paul Belmondo, a legend of French cinema, describing the actor, the artist, the man, and his women.
An exciting story that takes Belmondo through the places where he filmed his movies: Copacabana, Rome, Normandy, and on the rooftops of Paris, with testimonies from Jean Rochefort, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Charles Gérard, and Alain Delon, another myth of French cinema.
Monte-Carlo Film Festival will conclude on Sunday, March 6th, with the “Gala des Awards” at the Grimaldi Forum, presented by Ezio Greggio and filmed by Mediaset.
During the Gala evening, lifetime achievement awards will be given to Claude Brasseur, Claudia Cardinale, Dante Ferretti, Francesca Lo Schiavo, and Billy Zane.
Cristiana Capotondi and Madalina Ghenea will receive the Comedy Award 2016 from the Monte-Carlo Film Festival.
