After Saint-Laurent du Var, where a merger between lists could make the path to re-election for the outgoing mayor Henri Revel more than difficult, it’s now the turn of other cities in the Nice metropolitan area to present their alliances ahead of next Sunday’s final sprint.
Here again, some surprises are anticipated, starting with Villefranche-sur-Mer: Christophe Trojani, initially an independent candidate who eventually aligned with Eric Ciotti and was labeled as UMP, seemed, based on the first-round results, to be the clear favorite.
But, in politics, nothing is ever guaranteed until the end, and now the other two candidates, Jean-Pierre Mangiapan and Cรฉdric Cirasa, are joining forces (and their votes) to block and claim victory.
In La Trinitรฉ, a merger could challenge a result considered likely: Adeline Mouton is backing Ladislas Polski, and their joint list could cause an upset in a three-way race against Jean-Paul Dalmasso (former first deputy and endorsed by the outgoing mayor Jean-Louis Scoffiรฉ), who led last Sunday, and FN candidate Alexandre Mascagni.
In Vence, it’s another surprise: the two centrist candidates who finished 2nd and 3rd have decided to run on a joint list in the second round. Loรฏc Dombreval (20.14%) and Anne Satonnet (19.91%) are uniting against the outgoing mayor, Rรฉgis Lebigre UMP (28.28%), and Jean-Pierre Daugreilh, FN (15.09%).
Finally, no change in situation in Carros where, in a four-way race, it will be Charles Scibetta (former first deputy of the city) and Marie-Christine Charles (first deputy and supported by the outgoing mayor Damiani) vying for the position of first magistrate in one of the department’s tightest elections.
Outcome on Sunday evening to see which alliances, in the end, have proven to be the strongest!
