The start of the school year is a very important moment in a child’s life, even more so for a sick child who will attend school at the hospital. It is also a key moment in the family’s budget, which sometimes struggles to financially handle the associated expenses, especially when one or more children in the family are hospitalized.
The goal this year, as set by the Harley du Cœur, in partnership with the Carrefour Nice Lingostière store, the Marriott AC hotel in Nice, and the Marriott Porte de Monaco hotel, is to offer a school start to hospitalized and disadvantaged children marked by generosity and sharing.
Aware of the difficulties faced daily by the most disadvantaged and financially vulnerable families, the big-hearted bikers and their partners have decided to provide the same opportunities to each of these children.
The idea is to collect new school supplies by appealing to the donations and generosity of participants, directly engaging them at their back-to-school shopping locations at one of the region’s main supermarkets.
Then, the collected supplies will be handed over to the CHU and the partner associations in the days following the start of the school year, accompanied by partners and volunteers.
If the first edition of the “solidarity start” operation in 2015 allowed for the collection of 1.3 tons of new school supplies, this year the big-hearted bikers achieved an even better result: 1.9 tons!
The distribution will take place this Friday at 5:30 PM at the AC Marriott hotel in Nice.
