By making one of his first visits after being elected president of the Fondation Alliance française to the Alliance Française of Nice, Jérôme Clément, former president of the European channel ARTE, former president of the Centre national du cinéma, and administrator of several prestigious cultural institutions (Musée d’Orsay, Théâtre du Chatelet), emphasizes his interest in the Alliances Françaises of France.
The Alliance Française of Nice, a private higher education institution and recognized training organization, founded in 1884, has been providing vacation courses to foreigners since 1910.
Their role will become increasingly important in the context of an intercultural Europe.
Since its foundation to the present day, it has never ceased its cultural activity. It has built its action and reputation on the quality of its teaching and individualized support that facilitates the integration of foreign students and workers in our city.
Each year, it welcomes 1,700 students from 90 nationalities for 80,000 hours of courses sold. In the summer of 2014, it was awarded the FLE Quality Label. In the five areas examined – reception, premises, teaching, management, and training – its institution received a three-star rating, which is the maximum score, at the very moment when its educational institution welcomed its 20,000th student.
In 2013, the Alliance Française of Nice signed a partnership agreement with the City of Nice to jointly invite recognized specialists to the Mediterranean University Center on themes common to both institutions, such as the promotion of the French language and contemporary culture, notably within the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean project.
